The over/under for Detroit Tigers wins in 2010 is 80.5
The Detroit Tigers had a very interesting winter. At first it looked like they were rebuilding when they traded Curtis Granderson and Edwin Jackson for four talented youngsters. But then right before spring training was to begin they signed Johnny Damon and Jose Valverde. I think the Tigers have a good enough pitching staff to make a run at the A.L. Central, but, will they hit enough? Miguel Cabrera and Johnny Damon are the only two Tigers coming off good seasons. For the Tigers to contend they need Ordonez’ power to return first off. They will also need Carlos Guillen to give them 500+ ABs as the DH (that is quite possible). Finally youngsters like Scott Sizemore and Austin Jackson are going to have to step up. The verdict is that I have the Tigers finishing in 3rd place in the A.L. Central with around 82-83 wins. I would make a small bet on the over.
