The Detroit Tigers sign Dane Sardinha
The Tigers have re-signed 29-year old righty swinging catcher Dane Sardinha to a minor league deal. He played in 17 games for the Tigers last season and he was 7 for 44 (.159 avg, .434 OPS) with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Sardinha has now played in 19 games in his major league career and he is 7 for 49 (.143 avg, .392 OPS) with 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. Sardinha was signed just for organizational depth as he’s likely the Tigers’ #5 catcher heading into spring training.
